Volunteer Waiver & Release of Liability
1. Nature of Volunteer Activity: I understand that my role as a volunteer at Toronto Ribfest may involve physical activities, including but not limited to, heavy lifting, standing for long periods, working in high-temperature environments (near cooking areas), and operating equipment. I represent that I am physically capable of performing these tasks.
2. Assumption of Risk: I am aware of the potential risks associated with volunteering at the Event, including exposure to heat, kitchen hazards, crowd control issues, and physical exertion. I voluntarily accept these risks and agree that I am responsible for my own safety and well-being.
3. Release of Liability: I hereby release and forever discharge the Toronto Ribfest organizing committee, its officers, employees, agents, and the City of Toronto from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action which I may have, now or in the future, arising out of my participation as a volunteer, including those resulting from negligence.
4. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Event organizers from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and legal fees, that they may incur due to my participation in the Event, whether caused by my negligence or otherwise.
5. Adherence to Rules: I have read the Toronto Ribfest Code of Conduct and agree to comply with all safety instructions, rules, and procedures established by the organizers. I understand that failure to do so may result in my immediate dismissal as a volunteer.
6. Medical Information: I agree to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations that the organizers should be aware of to ensure my safety.
